Platform & Positioning
What is Open Wonder?
Open Wonder is the Brand Operating System. It is the layer between your brand guidelines, your AI models, and the people producing content across marketing, sales, comms, and regional teams. The product has three parts: the Linked Intelligence Layer, which connects your brand assets, guidelines, and approved sources; the Content Operations Hub, where teams brief, generate, review, and ship content; and AI Brand Guard, which checks every output against your guidelines before it leaves the system.
What do we mean by brand and marketing long tail?
The "head" of brand and marketing work is the small number of high-stakes, high-budget assets: the campaign hero film, the annual report cover, the trade-show booth. The "long tail" is everything else, and there is a lot of it. Localized social posts, sales one-pagers, regional product sheets, recruiting graphics, partner co-branded assets, internal comms, newsletter modules, channel adaptations, and the hundred small variants every campaign generates after the hero asset is signed off. The long tail is where most production hours and most agency invoices go, and where brand drift and Shadow AI usage typically start. Open Wonder is built to industrialize the long tail without giving up brand control.
Who is Open Wonder built for?
Brand and marketing teams with at least two people who already produce long-tail content, either with internal capacity or through agencies. If you have agency budget you would like to cut, or internal output you would like to multiply without hiring, this is built for you. That spans Mittelstand companies with a small brand team, scale-ups, and listed groups with global marketing organizations. Buyers are usually the CMO or the CEO. Daily users are brand managers, comms leads, marketing operations, regional marketing, sales enablement, and increasingly IT and legal as guardrails on AI usage.
How is Open Wonder different from a DAM, a CMS, or a generic AI tool?
A DAM stores assets. A CMS publishes pages. A generic AI tool produces output without context. Open Wonder sits above them. It uses your DAM, your CMS, and any foundation model your IT department approves, and it enforces your brand and your compliance rules every time someone hits generate. None of those other systems do that today.
Is Open Wonder a model or a layer on top of models?
A layer. Open Wonder is foundation model agnostic. You can run it on the model your IT or compliance teams have approved, including locally hosted open weights. The product does not depend on any single vendor.
What do customers actually do with it?
They produce campaign content, social posts, sales enablement assets, regional adaptations, internal comms, and product copy at a much higher pace, with brand and legal compliance built into the workflow. Customers visible on openwonder.com include mobile.de, idealo, Tertianum, BVII, Kneipp, Hartmann, and ATTUVIA.
What is Shadow AI?
Shadow AI is the use of AI tools outside the awareness or approval of IT and the brand owner. Sales teams generating visuals in consumer image tools. Regional offices writing social copy in public chatbots. Agencies running drafts through whatever model is cheapest that week. Output is inconsistent, brand drift accumulates, and proprietary inputs leak into systems your DPO has never reviewed.
How widespread is Shadow AI really?
Industry data puts daily AI tool usage at 88% of employees, with 80% of organizations using unapproved AI tools outside IT oversight. Gartner expects Shadow AI to account for 20% of all enterprise data breaches by 2025. The problem is not theoretical. Most companies have it; very few have measured it.
We already rolled out an enterprise chatbot. Does that solve Shadow AI?
A licensed chatbot solves the data residency question for one model. It does nothing about brand consistency, asset storage, brief workflows, regional approvals, or legal review. It also does not stop people from copy-pasting into other tools when the licensed one feels slower. Open Wonder is the workflow layer that makes the approved path the easiest path.
What is the business risk if we ignore Shadow AI?
Three risks compound. Brand drift, which costs measurable revenue — companies with consistent brand presentation across touchpoints see 10 to 20 percent higher revenue growth than peers. Compliance exposure, especially under the EU AI Act and GDPR. And output quality variance, which makes everything from sales decks to product launches feel uneven to your customers.
Why should Shadow AI be on the CEO agenda and not just the CMO's?
Because three CEO-level topics collide here. Brand value, AI risk, and operational leverage. Brand consistency moves revenue. Shadow AI is a board-level compliance issue. AI-driven content production is the single largest near-term productivity gain available to a marketing organization. A decision that lands all three usually does not stay below the C-suite.
What is the strategic moat of Open Wonder?
Open Wonder is the only system in the EU built specifically as a brand operating layer above the AI stack. We are foundation model agnostic, EU-hosted, and built to enforce a brand and a compliance regime, not to sell tokens. As the EU AI Act lands, that combination becomes the default requirement for serious brands operating in Europe.
Build versus buy?
Build looks attractive until you price the brand-rule engine, the integrations, the security posture, and the maintenance against a model landscape that changes every quarter. Most companies that started building have moved to buying within 18 months. Open Wonder lets your team stay focused on brand and growth, not on maintaining model plumbing.
Who else uses Open Wonder?
Public references include mobile.de, idealo, Tertianum, BVII, Kneipp, Hartmann, and ATTUVIA. Other customers prefer to stay private. We will introduce you to live customer references in your sector during the evaluation phase.
Is Open Wonder built for the Mittelstand or only for large enterprises?
Both, and our roots are clearly Mittelstand. Open Wonder is a Berlin company, GmbH, registered at Amtsgericht Charlottenburg HRB 284087. Our customer base spans the DACH region and other European markets, in industrial, consumer, healthcare, and services. Pricing scales down to teams that do not yet have a separate brand operations function.
Are you going to disappear in two years like every other AI startup?
The company is venture backed, run by an experienced European tech leadership team, generating revenue from named customers, and has an explicit EU-first strategy that aligns with where regulation is heading. The same question is fair to ask, and we are happy to discuss the cap table and the roadmap under NDA.
Pricing & billing
Tarife, Upgrade und Rechnungsstellung.
What is the ROI case for Open Wonder?
The case has three components. First, output volume per FTE rises sharply, with customers reporting 5 to 8x faster production and 10x more on-brand content. Second, agency spend on production work falls, often by a meaningful share within the first year. Third, brand consistency lifts revenue — industry data shows 10 to 20 percent revenue growth difference between consistent and inconsistent brands. We will model your specific case during the deep dive.
How is Open Wonder priced?
By workspace and seat, with module-level options for AI Brand Guard, regional workspaces, and advanced integrations. Procurement runs annually, with quarterly billing available. We do not publish prices on the site because the right configuration depends on your team count, regional footprint, and integration scope. Contact sales and we will give you a written quote within a few business days.
What does TCO look like compared to hiring or paying agencies?
Cheaper than the equivalent headcount or agency hours for the same output volume in every customer model we have run, usually with a payback inside 12 months. The variable that moves payback most is how much current production work is outsourced at agency rates versus produced in-house.
What does the procurement process look like?
We are used to running through European Mittelstand procurement: vendor onboarding form, security questionnaire (IT-Sicherheitsfragebogen and equivalents in other markets), DPA or AVV under EU standard terms, written quote, signature, kickoff. A two-stage timeline of evaluation followed by procurement typically lands inside one quarter.
Can we start with a pilot?
Yes. A typical pilot covers one team or one region for one quarter, with a clear set of measurable outcomes agreed in writing before the start. If the pilot delivers, conversion to annual is straightforward. If it does not, you walk away.
What is a typical contract term?
Annual is the norm. Multi-year terms are available with adjusted commercials. Quarterly billing is available on request.
How do we get a quote?
Contact David Falk, CRO, at david@openwonder.com, or use the contact form on openwonder.com. We respond within one business day and aim to deliver a written quote within a week of the deep-dive call.
Can you support our procurement and security review timelines?
Yes. We routinely complete IT-Sicherheitsfragebogen, vendor onboarding, and DPA review for Mittelstand and listed customers. Send the questionnaires early and we will return them inside your timeline.
Product & Capabilities
Will Open Wonder protect brand consistency or just speed up production?
Both. AI Brand Guard checks every output against your guidelines before it leaves the system. Tone, terminology, color use, claim language, prohibited phrases. Customers report 10x more on-brand content and 5 to 8x faster production once teams are onboarded. The trade-off most CMOs worry about — speed at the cost of brand — is the trade-off the system is built to remove.
How does AI Brand Guard work in practice?
You import your brand book, tone-of-voice guide, claim library, and approved imagery. Open Wonder turns those into machine-checkable rules. Every brief, every draft, and every export is scored. Outputs that fail are flagged with the specific rule they breach and a suggested fix. Reviewers see a green or red signal at a glance.
Can we keep our agency relationships?
Yes. Most customers do. Agencies log in as guest users, work inside the same guardrails as internal teams, and deliver output that is already on-brand. Briefs become shorter, revisions drop, and your agency invoices stop including the round of corrections that used to be unavoidable.
What about regional offices and local marketing teams that drift off-brand?
This is one of the strongest use cases. Regional teams get a Content Operations Hub workspace with their localized brand variant pre-loaded. They generate in their language, with their local claims, and AI Brand Guard prevents the parts that must stay global from drifting. Headquarters retains visibility without becoming a bottleneck.
How fast does a team get to value?
First on-brand assets in days, not months. Full rollout across a marketing team usually takes 4 to 8 weeks depending on how clean the brand assets and guidelines are when we start. Customers report 10x faster go-live on new campaigns once the system is in place.
Will my team need to learn a new tool stack?
The Content Operations Hub is the new surface. Everything else — your DAM, your CMS, your social schedulers, your CRM — stays where it is. Open Wonder integrates with Slack, Microsoft Teams, the X and Meta APIs, Gmail, common DAM and social scheduler vendors, and CRM and marketing automation systems.
Will this stack on top of our existing tools or replace them?
Mostly stack on top. Open Wonder usually replaces a patchwork of point AI tools and ad hoc Notion or SharePoint workflows. Your DAM, CMS, social schedulers, and CRM stay. Most customers see one or two contracts retire as Open Wonder takes over those workflows.
Which KPIs do customers track?
Production cost per asset, time to publish, share of on-brand outputs, agency spend on production, time spent on revisions, and brand consistency scores from internal audits or external surveys. We can share customer benchmarks under NDA.
How does Open Wonder help my sales team?
Reps spend less time chasing assets and more time selling. Sales decks, one-pagers, regional case studies, follow-up emails, and social posts can be generated on demand inside guardrails. The output is already on-brand and approved by default, so marketing review stops being the bottleneck on a deal cycle.
Can sales reps generate their own localized assets?
Yes. They work inside the Content Operations Hub with the templates, claims, and language packs marketing has approved. AI Brand Guard prevents anything off-brand or non-compliant from going out. Reps get speed; marketing keeps control.
What about social selling at scale?
Reps can generate posts that match the brand voice and the campaign theme of the week, in the language their region requires. Headquarters sees what is going out without having to approve every post manually.
Will this replace our sales enablement platform?
Usually not. It feeds it. The platform you already use for content delivery and analytics keeps that role. Open Wonder produces and approves the content that flows into it.
Which languages do you support?
The product, the documentation, and the support team operate in German and English by default, with additional languages added as customer demand grows. Brand variants can be configured in any language your customers require. The German interface uses the Sie form.
Security, Privacy & Infrastructure
Where is data hosted?
EU only by default. Production runs on EU infrastructure with EU data residency. We do not move customer data outside the EU without explicit contractual approval, which the vast majority of customers do not grant and do not need.
Is Open Wonder GDPR compliant?
Yes. The product is built around four security pillars: Privacy by Design, Foundation Model Agnostic, EU First Infrastructure, and Multi Tenant Architecture. We sign Auftragsverarbeitungsverträge under standard German and EU terms. The full DPA, sub-processor list, and TOMs are available on request under NDA.
Are our prompts or outputs used to train any model?
No. Customer prompts, customer assets, and customer outputs are not used to train foundation models. The model layer is decoupled from the product layer. You can run on a hosted model or on an EU-hosted open-weights model under your own keys.
Which foundation models can we use?
Open Wonder is foundation model agnostic. Customers run on EU-hosted open weights, on approved commercial models, or on a mix. If your IT department has already approved a model, we can almost certainly route through it. If you need to switch later, the product does not depend on any single vendor.
How is access controlled?
Multi tenant architecture with strict tenant isolation, role-based access control, single sign-on through your identity provider, audit logging, and granular permissions on workspaces, brand variants, and asset libraries. Admins control who can generate, who can publish, and who can change rules.
Does Open Wonder support the EU AI Act?
Yes. Every output is logged with model, prompt, brand-rule check result, and reviewer. That audit trail is what most legal teams need to demonstrate compliance with the transparency and documentation requirements of the AI Act. We track regulatory changes and update product behavior to keep customers compliant.
Can we run Open Wonder on our own cloud?
For larger deployments, yes. We support dedicated tenancy and customer-managed deployments in EU regions. The standard offering is multi-tenant SaaS on EU infrastructure, which is sufficient for the majority of customers including regulated industries.
What about SOC 2, ISO 27001, and similar certifications?
Available on request. Your security team can request our current attestations, penetration test summaries, and risk assessment via the standard NDA process. We routinely complete vendor security questionnaires for regulated industries.
What logging and audit trails are available?
Full audit logs on access, generation, brand-rule decisions, edits, exports, and integrations. Logs export to your SIEM. Retention is configurable.
How does Open Wonder change risk exposure?
Down. GDPR exposure drops because prompts and outputs stay within EU infrastructure. AI Act exposure drops because every output is logged and reviewable. Brand exposure drops because nothing leaves the system unchecked. Most CFOs now look at Shadow AI as an unbooked liability. Open Wonder books it.
Implementation & Onboarding
How long does a deployment take?
First workspace live in 2 to 4 weeks. Full rollout for a marketing organization, including brand-rule import, integrations, and team enablement, usually 6 to 12 weeks. The variable that moves the timeline most is the state of the brand assets and guidelines on day one.
Do you offer professional services?
Yes. Onboarding, brand-rule modeling, integration setup, and team enablement are scoped per customer. We work alongside your internal owner, not instead of them. Knowledge transfer is part of the contract.
Which integrations are available out of the box?
Slack, Microsoft Teams, the X API, the Meta API, Gmail, common DAM systems, common social schedulers, Hi-Commerce, and standard CRM and marketing automation systems. We add connectors regularly. If yours is not listed, ask.
Who owns the rollout internally?
The most successful customers have a triangle: an executive sponsor (usually CMO or CEO), a brand owner who maintains the rules, and an IT or marketing operations lead who owns access and integrations. We do not require all three to be senior. We do require the three roles to exist.
What does training look like for the team?
Live onboarding sessions for power users, asynchronous self-serve training for the broader team, and a customer success contact who knows your account. Most users are productive on day one in the Content Operations Hub.
How does the CRM and outreach stack integration work?
Open Wonder connects to common CRM and marketing automation systems. Generated assets attach to deals and accounts. Outreach personalization runs inside the guardrails rather than in whatever tool a rep installed last quarter.
Do we need a large IT team to run this?
No. Standard deployment is SaaS, with single sign-on against your existing identity provider. Most customers stand up the first workspace with a part-time IT contact, a brand owner, and our customer success team.
Will this work with the typical Mittelstand stack?
Yes. We integrate with the systems most commonly used in mid-market European companies: Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, common DAM vendors, common CRM and marketing automation tools, and the major social platforms. If a system you depend on is missing from our integration list, we will tell you straight whether a connector is on the roadmap or whether a project effort is required.
